Messe Berlin: A Global Host with a New Brand Identity
Dynamic, confident, and versatile – this is how kleiner + bold presents the new brand design for Messe Berlin.
More than 30 years after the establishment of Messe Berlin GmbH in 1992, the exhibition company has given its brand appearance and logo a fresh new look. The new logo and brand identity have managed to translate them into a modern style while maintaining many of the constants.
The result: a modern brand presence that reflects the dynamism of the exhibition business.
The newly designed logo of Messe Berlin is clear and confident: it continues to reference the Brandenburg Gate, symbolizing the connection of the state-owned company with the capital. Complemented by the wording "Messe Berlin," the various logo versions adapt to the diverse needs of modern brand communication: whether classic or digital, in large formats or in small applications on social media – the versatile logo proves effective in a variety of environments. Shades of blue continue to dominate the brand identity, complemented by contrasting, fresh colors.
The six pillars of the Brandenburg Gate become the defining key visual of the brand's appearance: they form a band of six stripes, becoming a hallmark design element of the brand identity. As a key visual, the "Messe Twist" is as dynamic as the brand itself: it changes shape and color, providing creative flexibility. The new brand design was developed in collaboration with the Berlin agency kleiner + bold and is set to be rolled out gradually.
The image shows the new horizontal and vertical logos of Messe Berlin. The logo continues to emphasize the Brandenburg Gate, now featuring a new double bar design.
Messe Berlin Strengthens Connections Between Its Own Events and Subsidiaries
Whether it’s the Green Week, Fruit Logistica, InnoTrans, or ITB – in communicating its own events, Messe Berlin focuses on greater visibility. The company logo is often prominently displayed, benefiting product brands and companies alike.
As part of the rebranding, the logos of the company's own subsidiaries have been more strongly integrated into the brand family. This makes the sender, Messe Berlin, visually recognizable among companies located on the exhibition grounds, including Capital Catering GmbH, Capital Services GmbH, and Capital Facility GmbH.
The image shows three flags featuring the new Messe logo alongside many people in attendance. The new brand design is being introduced across the exhibition grounds and in the media of Messe Berlin.
